Roller Boy
Griffin wanted to make the alley more rollerblade-friendly this morning. He's been pretty into skating lately and actually is quite impressive with his hockey-stops and spin-turns (if that even is a thing). When there's too much snow or ice in the alley, he does rollerblade laps around the basement.
He also really likes ice-skating - essentially the same thing - and we went over there today. Pam got him some skates, and I'm thinking maybe hockey when the season comes around again in September. We'll see.

Banner Day at the S-F Household
Griffin evidently wrote poetry in his 2nd grade class today that inspired his teacher not only to call Pam about it but also to submit it for publication consideration somewhere. We're so proud.
And Rowan came home with 100% on her math test and before we pulled her rock candy science fair exhibit out of the jars, she was sitting at the table writing words she didn't know on rocks with a black sharpie. I thought this was very artistic - she switched to dating them and putting her name on them. After this "tagging," she's going to release them back into the wild with the expectation that one day they will be found.
Berit also continues to work very hard. She was up late last night after singing and youth group, working on a powerpoint presentation and then logging her phase of the moon observations. She had two classes and a teacher conference at school today and spent the rest of the day volunteering in Rowan and Griffin's elementary school. Her program requires community service hours, most of which she gets from going to the Humane Society with Rowan and Uncle Bennett.
I'm going to sleep well tonight.
